Glove Material Advisor
Showing 511 matching chemical(s) of 511
This tool covers all 511 chemicals in the NIOSH Chemical Protective Clothing database. For 307 of them, NIOSH provides no generic barrier and defers to manufacturer data — the tool shows that honestly rather than guessing.

How it works
NIOSH's Chemical Protective Clothing (CPC) database recommends generic glove material classes — not brand-name products — for chemicals it has permeation/degradation data on, split into a full-shift band (greater than 8 hours of lab breakthrough resistance) and a short-task band (4–8 hours).

This tool never fabricates a material. When NIOSH lists nothing for a chemical, the tool says so and points to manufacturer permeation data instead of guessing.
Worked example
Searching Acetone (CAS 67-64-1) returns a full-shift band of Butyl and EVOH/PE laminate, with no short-task band listed.
Searching o-Xylene (CAS 95-47-6) returns the honest no-generic-barrier state — both bands are empty in the source data, so the tool refuses to guess and points to manufacturer permeation data instead.
